Fast Facts about Oxnard College

Location: Ideally situated on California’s Central Coast two miles from the beach in Ventura County, Oxnard College is freeway close, located between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles by way of the Ventura Freeway and the easily accessible Pacific Coast Highway. The 118-acre OC campus was founded in 1975 and will undergo a major reconstruction over the next decade as part of the Measure S bond-funded expansion of the Ventura County Community College District.

Affiliation: Oxnard College is one of three colleges in the Ventura County Community College District and one of 109 California Community Colleges that comprise the largest college system in the world.

Accreditation: Oxnard College is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council on Post-Secondary Accrediting and the U.S. Department of Education.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Ventura County Community College District is to provide educational opportunities that emphasize skills and knowledge that allow students to be successful throughout a lifetime of social and technological change.

To this end, we offer programs that improve basic skills, that lead to the completion of an associate degree or occupational certificate, and that prepare students to transfer to a four-year college or university. Academics

Programs Offered: Associate of Arts and Associate of Sciences Degrees in more than XX areas of study, with Certificates of Achievement and Completion in more than XX areas of study. Enrollment Fees: $20 per unit for California residents, plus the required health, materials and student center fees.

Transfer Agreements with: CSUCI, CSUN, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, and UC Santa Cruz.

K-12 Students: Dual enrollment for high school students (earning high school and college credit).
