The Faculty Special Projects Funds
Last year was the first year that Oxnard College was able to take advantage of the generosity of a local benefactor to support some faculty projects. Each year Oxnard College receives $5,000 from the Van De Genachte estate to support special faculty projects. The Faculty Special Projects Funds (FSPF) will be managed annually and through the formation of an ad-hoc committee from the Academic Senate. The ad-hoc committee, FSPF committee, will be composed of members from Academic Senators and Executive Senate. Two faculty members applied for and received full support for their projects. We are working on ways to augment these monies to create a larger resource to encourage and sustain faculty classroom-based research. More details about this program will be forthcoming.
