To support web-based curriculum, the District has obtained WebCT Vista 4 course-management system. This session provides an overview of, and an initial hands-on experience with WebCT.

Description: SMART classrooms enable faculty and staff to incorporate multimedia and internet content into their lecture. Each SMART classroom is equipped with DVD-ROM, VHS player, a document camera, connectivity for laptop computers, and a pixie control to ease use of equipment. This workshop provides an overview of and hands-on experience with SMART. Bring you questions; the last half-hour of the workshop is dedicated to answering questions.

Description: We all know that change is a normal occurrence in our lives and in the organizations where we work. Why, then, is change often so difficult? How do we deal with the stress that often accompanies change in the workplace and in our personal lives? Description: CurricUNET is an automated curriculum development and approval process that is paperless and completely web-based. It has a fully automated workflow cycle and is designed to automate the course development, modification, origination system, create and display customizable curriculum reports, search and retrieve courses by subject, number ,units, status through advanced database systems, and archive curriculum developments.

Description: A follow-up and a review of the SARS Grid system and its effective use in scheduling and case management in serving students. Counselors will review what was presented in the Fall: how to record and view notes in conjunction with counseling files, pop-up alert, as well as other student alerts and how to respond. Description: During the CPR and AED workshop, participants will learn to recognize a life threatening emergency, when to call for help, and how to administer basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Participants will also learn to use the Automated External Defibrillator (AED), which increases the rate of survival among heart attack victims.

Description: This workshop focuses on the skills, knowledge, and intervention strategies necessary for individuals in an educational setting to assist students with disabilities. Attendees of this workshop will understand the following to assist individuals with disabilities in an educational setting: Identification and characteristics of disabilities, most frequently requested accommodations, teaching strategies, understanding mandated service, such as Section 501, American with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Rehabilitation Act of 1973, institutional/faculty rights, and EAC policies and procedures.

Description: This is a hands-on workshop for individual faculty members or faculty who want to work in programmatic or departmental groups to devise either course-level SLOs or program and degree level SLOs. The remaining time will be spent on helping participants to develop SLOs for their courses, programs or majors.
